Worn suspension doesn’t just feel bad — it reduces control, increases stopping distance, and destroys tires. Here are the most common signs we see in the shop.
1. Clunks, Knocks or Rattles over Bumps
Often worn struts/shocks, control arm bushings, sway bar links or ball joints. The noise usually gets worse as the part deteriorates.
2. Uneven or Rapid Tire Wear
Cupping, feathering or one-sided wear is frequently caused by bad shocks/struts or alignment issues from worn suspension components.
3. Nose Dive When Braking or Excessive Body Roll
Classic sign that the struts or shocks are no longer controlling the spring movement properly.
4. Vehicle Sits Lower on One Corner
Broken spring or failed air suspension (on equipped vehicles). Can also be a heavily worn strut.
5. Steering Feels Loose or the Car Wanders
Can be tie rods, ball joints, control arm bushings or worn steering components. Safety-critical — get it checked soon.
At G CAR'S we diagnose suspension issues properly and only replace what is needed. Book a suspension inspection or quote.
